Through the provision of music sessions, students will learn to work within a group setting to reach set targets. Session structure will be underpinned by a focus on social interaction, confidence building and communication. The sessions will offer music to suit the various needs of the groups. We have a saying,"It's More Than Music"being part of NE Music Factory is more than just learning to play in a band,it's about personal development, self esteem, working in a team and building on transferable skills.
Children from all backgrounds and every part of England should have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument, to make music with others, to learn to sing and to have the opportunity to progress to the next level of excellence if they wish to.(The Department for Education - National Plan for Music Education)
We aim to introduce young people and children into a music making culture by providing 'doorstep music'. By providing a local project that is set within their community and easily accessible we are bringing them into a local centre and creating a local music making environment that they can be comfortable in and eager to attend beyond the funded project. We encourage musical capacity building in the local community by asking young people and children to embrace music within their own area and therefore bringing into their lives long-term.(NE Music Factory CIC - Gary Melling)
